Magalawa Island 041611 (Summer Getaway 2011)

Of all the islands we have been to, this sure tops the list of most recommended.

We left MLA by 5AM, stopped at Shell NLEX for breakfast and left around 5:30AM. By 7:30AM, we're already in Subic. We failed to turn left at "Ulo ni Apo" shrine, no signs at all %^$#. We ended up going back to Subic and retraces our way. Arrived at Iba, Zambales around 8:30am. Stayed there for about an hour or so to buy food supplies. By 9:30am, we found the Radyo Veritas rough road. Literally, ROUGH!!! we decided to take the trike and left John and JM in the car as we are not sure how far we are from the port and how rough it will be along the way. FINALLY, by 11AM we're already in MALAGAWA island. LO and BEHOLD! It's really breathtaking.

There are about 80+ tourists but it still can accommodate more. Its too big (comparing to Potipot):D Set meals are being sold for 200/meal/pax (complete meal) BUT earlier on we already decided to cook for ourselves. It was a learning experience. I was too drunk to remember what else happened after our dinner :)) Thanks to GSM Blue!! Or to 2kls. of ripe mangoes we earlier bought from the market.

Our IT was to leave the island at 11am pero when we woke up and saw that everyone were already packing, the thought that we would be "ALONE" made us decide to stay a bit longer :))

On our way back, the group felt the need to eat a decent meal so we stopped by at Palmera Beach Resort and had a sumptuous late lunch (5pm).. Ratings: nothing special LOLS.

By 10:30pm, nasa Araneta Center na. We had our dinner at North Park Araneta branch. Ratings: "NOTHING SPECIAL" again LOLS Mann hann is still the best for chinese cuisine. While having our dinner, we calculated the cost per person to check whether it can be considered inexpensive getaway (with own transpo and 5adults):
Gas/Tollgate: 500/head
Food/Supplies: 300/head
2D/1N entrance and Boat ride to and from: 400/head
Misc (food on stopovers): 300/head (optional)
***we brought our own tent

For a group of 5 adults, 1500-1700php is safe enough. If you don't want the hassle of bringing tent, they have Cabanas which can accommodate 5 pax (comfortably) to 7 pax) with fan and lights at 500php/day. They also have tents for rent at 200/day. BIG CAMPING TENTS na COLEMAN hahaha :))

They sell sodas, beers, GSM and "The Bar", junk foods and basic toiletries. No cooked food unless you availed their packages. Did I mentioned that you have to pay for the picnic table at 100/group? :D
